The new Opus Incertum fountain pen is dedicated to the ancient city of Rome and represents a reinterpretation of Roman constructions that have crossed the centuries, witnessing the passage of emperors and the everyday life of its inhabitants.

Opus Incertum (“irregular work”) is an ancient Roman building technique consisting of walls and pavements made from irregular stone fragments and blocks, carefully fitted and cemented together to create an apparently random yet extraordinarily solid structure. Thanks to this remarkable strength, many of these constructions have survived to the present day, becoming symbols of longevity, resistance, craftsmanship, and dedication to quality work. As the ancient saying goes: “All roads lead to Rome.”

The pen is crafted in engraved sterling silver and finished through a complex process involving multiple oxidation treatments. Metallic details such as the rings, top, and clip are plated in gold, silver and ruthenium, completing the design with a refined and elegant character.

Each pen is meticulously handcrafted by our silversmiths and hallmarked with our artisan maker’s mark together with the oval 925 sterling silver stamp, certifying the authenticity of the precious metal used.

Designed for both beauty and functionality, the fountain pen features a double-use filling system compatible with both ink cartridges and converter filling. A pumping converter and a set of six ink cartridges are included for your convenience.
The screw cap closure ensures comfortable everyday use and secure protection of the nib.

The pen is fitted with a stainless steel Medium nib as standard. Fine, Extra Fine, and Broad nib sizes are also available upon request. For an even more luxurious writing experience, the pen can be upgraded with a solid 18K gold nib.
